Went on a fishing trip last week and camped outside so I did not wear any fragrance. This week I decided to hit some bottles of designer juice instead of tackling the many samples I have not yet worn. The commonality of woody notes became quite apparent.

Dsquared He Wood (2007) - Monday
Versace Pour Homme (2008) - Tuesday
Yardley Citrus & Wood (2011) - Wednesday
Hermes Voyage D'Hermes (2010) - Thursday
Pal Zileri Sartoriale (2005) - Friday
Lalique White (2008) - Saturday

Malizia Uomo Vetyver layered with one spray of Turtle Vetiver Front Ex. #2. It is interesting because I have two competing (bright vs. earthy) vetivers. Kind of like a guitar and a bass playing the same notes simultaneously.

Happy anniversary, Marc.

For me today, Jicky PdT (sp?).

I agree with Chandos that the SMN Vetiver is not very appealing. Maybe it is just that it is an old formula created before folks really got the hang of vetiver.

I was disappointed in both Mona di Orio and SMN Vetiver for the same reason, a strong nondescript floral undertone. I've read rosewood as well and it seems about right.
