I'm conflicted on this one. On one hand, this is a beautiful fragrance. I get bergamot and vetiver in the opening and as time goes on the citrus fades a bit and is replaced with a little bit of vanilla. Overall, the scent is wonderfully balanced. Marketed for women but I think most men could were this as well. On the other hand, as much as I like the scent, it doesn't move me. More comforting then interesting or inspiring. We'll see if this changes as time goes on.
I enjoyed reading your description, Jason. I've been curious about this one since reading Luca Turin's comment in "Perfumes: The Guide..." about how great it is. From your description, I wonder if it has some similarity to Hermes Vetiver Tonka?

Default Olivier Durbano Turquoise (2009) - Wednesday

Main Accords: Woody, Marine, Herbal, Balmy, Sweet

Top: Coriander, Olibanum, Cypress, Pink Pepper
Middle: Sea Water, Reed, Lotus, Lily
Base: White Honey, Immortell, Myrhh, Amber

I received a typical 0.7ml sample of Turquoise a few months back along with several other Fresh Aquatics from LuckyScent. Looking over my spreadsheet, I see that I already had this one marked as a do not like. I know I sampled it on paper, but I don't remember actually wearing it. Paper sample should not have taken that much juice so I don't know if the vial has been leaking, but there was only about 0.25ml remaining and that is not really enough to wear. I put 0.10ml on my wrist and the remaining 0.15ml I put on a spot on the front of my T-shirt so that I could compare it on my skin and my clothing simultaneously.

I didn't have any notes on Turquoise so I don't know why I didn't like it on paper, but today it really isn't that bad. It is a little on the sweet side and maybe that is why I dissed it early, but today I am getting a lot of seaweed with that sweetness both on my skin and on my clothing. It reminds me of another of the Fresh Aquatics from LuckyScent. I am in the office and don't have other samples with me at the moment, but if I had to guess I would say it is either Acquiilssssima or Acqua di Sale both of which I have marked as likes on the spreadsheet.

On my clothing the seaweed remains prominent all day long, but on my skin this frag turns powdery after 4 hours and after 6 hours it is all but gone. Maybe I should just start wearing all frags on my clothing. Many frags it seams just do not develop well on my skin and smell better on my clothing. Even though some frags may contain essential oils, most frags contain chemicals which can't be all that healthy to be absorbing into your body. Besides, all frags seem to last much longer on clothing anyways.

    Guerlain - Vetiver
I ride a motor scooter most of the time. I get between 80-115 miles to the gallon when I do. On those rare days that I drive my old beater of a car, I get 8 miles to the gallon, YMMV, mine sure does.

I really like this one! Some vetivers are greener while others are earthier, but I find Mona di Orio very well balanced with both the green and the earthy vetiver.
