A little experiment today. On my chest is 2010 Windsor from the recent split. On my left wrist is 2009 Windsor. About 1 hour in and the two scents are incredibly similar. The 2010 does seem a little duller, or maybe more muted compared to 2009. However, if I didn't have the two side-by-side a doubt I could tell the difference between the two at this point.

D&G Pour Homme. A clash between soap and sweet, very neutral on this one.

jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang, almond, gingerbread, vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood, vetiver
It's been a while since I've worn this but I have a very important meeting today and I'm judging a science fair tonight. So, I wanted something interesting but inoffensive. I remember this as not having as much sandalwood as I'd like but also having moments when the sandalwood was apparent, presenting the creamy but soft woody notes in very subtle ways. This is no sandalwood heavy-hitter, though; it's very elegant and soft-spoken - it has very refined manners. This is definitely feminine but very easily worn by a man as the drydown is very masculine with sandalwood and vetiver. The opening florals is perhaps the most feminine it gets, there's some powderiness in the middle but not much. I'm only a couple hours in and already really enjoying this and patting myself on the back for an excellent choice for today's appointments. And I'm looking forward very much to the drydown.

described as a masculine aromatic hesperide
Top Note: Grapefruit, Citrus, Tangerine, Eucalyptus
Heart Note: Nutmeg, Pepper
Base Note: Cedar, Incense, Vetiver, Pine cone
Excellent opening with a blast of citrus and pine, then some incense and eucalyptus. I also caught a brief Juicyfruit effect that I also find in Divine L'homme Sage - what the heck is that anyway? The middle shifts around a bit - right now I'm getting a candied grapefruit effect. I'm not getting any pine or woods at this point. Almost too sweet, but still holding my interest. Really looking forward to the dry down.
