I agree, the mint is the most penetrative scent and covers just about everything.

That said, the stuff's not too bad, for reasons I can't put my finger (nose?) on. Not bottle worthy, but definitely worth using more of the sample.

    Un The au Sahara
    by Stephanie de Saint-Aignan

tea, mint, woodsy notes, patchouli, amber and spices

I saw recently somewhere here on B&B where someone said something about patchouli and followed it with a comment about hating hippies. It's too bad that patchouli has become synonymous with hippies because it really does the note an injustice as I've always thought that it was perhaps the most important perfume ingredient ever used. On it's own, however, yes, I think it smells unbearable, but so do many Republicans I know even if they are family and friends. When used judiciously, as in Reminiscence Patchouli Elixir, or Givenchy Gentleman, patchouli comes across as a savoury baked good. In Un The au Sahara, the note is comparably utilized, but with an interesting tea and mint opening. Unfortunately, for me, the opening notes are the best part. The perfume develops much too quickly and one is left with a quiet but mostly patchouli accord that is rather flat in my opinion. Interesting but not full bottle worthy, try the others mentioned above and I promise there'll be no bongs or elephants - just be careful, the bow tie is really a camera.
