Another vote for Irisch Moos.
I really like Valobra but I wish it came in a dispenser like Irisch Moos & Tabac.

As far as performances are concerned:
1) Valobra (gold standard of shaving soap imo)
2) Tabac/Irisch Moos (close second)
3) Palmolive (cheap doesn't always mean bad)
4) Speick (slightly inferior to 1-3 imo, very good nevertheless, almost no fragrance for those who like that)

Since Arko is the only stick I have tried, I will have to say my favorite is Arko.

For me, it all started with the DarjeelingExpress thread: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthr...Stick-Homemade - but later in that thread the doubler-boiler method falls out of fashion. A kitchen grater is fine:
Or you can get by without the grater too:

Tabac
Tabac.
I'll add my name towards LaToja with Palmolive 2nd, but I enjoy Speick, Volabra just as much, Arko is excellent also. I have a LEA that I haven't used yet and I'm real curious about it. So this list can change depending of my whims.
Can't think of a stick that I haven't enjoyed, sticks are the best way to get soap on my face.

Value per Dollar- Palmolive, for me Arko is too drying

I pulled the trigger on a DR Harris stick last night after I read this thread....

1. Palmolive
1a. Valobra, Speick, La Toja (slight edge to Palmolive over these only on scent and just barely at that)
2. Irisch Moos/Tabac
3. Arko (can be drying at times but the lather is just ridiculous and I love the scent).
I don't care for most other sticks, as even the above are usually grated into puck form. Nevertheless, Harris soap is damn good. It's just that the stick is too pricey when compared to the pucks.
