    Default cigars...and...spirits

So i have been trying out my pallet of my fave scotches, whisky, blends and cognacs. With my fave cigars, romeo y julieta, macanudo and a fuentes

now by no means and I an expert on the subjects just a fan of a great smoke with a smooth scotch but for little gifts this year i have been putting together little mini bottles of booze with a cigar

this year i did a macanudo maduro with come chivas12 year old ( not an original mix i read about this one and it is nice)

i would love to find a nice blend with
Courvoisier i have just recently been drinking so what are your blends i would love to try some new ones i have only been doing this for a few months

I've never been much on the fine points of the subject. If I'm smoking a favorite cigar with a favorite spirit, it's a great pair. I have also noticed a really good scotch can make a really average cigar taste great and vice versa.

I tend to prefer a single malt with my cigar. Cognac is too subtle and not smoky enough to enhance the taste of the cigar. Laphroaig is good with the heavier Cubans but my favorite is Bowmore 15 year. It goes well with anything!

Chivas Regal goes well with an H. Upmann :)

I am just not a fan of hard liquor with cigars. The alcohol fumes sort of clash with the smoke, to me. My favorite beverage to accompany a nice cigar is a good tawny port. I have even been guilty of dipping the closed end of the cigar in the tawny, before lighting and smoking. Unlike vintage port, ($$$!) a tawny does not have to be decanted, and does not have to be finished soon after opening. It is much more complex and mature, and richer, creamier than a ruby port. Some sherries also go well with a cigar. A good Jerez works. Cheap, dependable Dry Sack is okay on a budget. But nothing goes like a tawny port.

Personally I tend to do rum drinks with my cigars. Don't know why, it just seems to make sense.

I enjoy a few things with a good cigar (although not all at once ): a nice red port, a wee dram of Lagavulin, or some B&B liquor/brandy. The occasional mojito or cuban coffee makes the rounds also if I'm on vacation.

I find a dry red wine (cabernet sauvaugion or merlot) an enjoyable compliment to a good cigar. I also like sipping a good bourbon, current favorite Jim Beam Black, while smoking my cigar. I'm not an expert in either spirits or cigars, just having fun.

I've been thinking of picking up a bottle. How does it compare to other bourbons like Elijah Craig and buffalo trace? Do you see yourself buying it again

Never was big into drinking anything while i smoked. When i did smoke however, i often would eat a piece of dark chocolate candy with and orange flavored center before smoking a perdomo lot 23.

Sambuca (strong flavor but reallllly smooths out a cigar) with Hoyo de Monterey, or Padron Anniversario. Although Scotches go very well with cigars, it's just not for me.

I've had more expensive whiskey, but this is one of my favorites. I don't claim to be an expert, but for the price it won't break the bank.

For me its usually just gin&7 with my cigars, although I was told to try Baileys because coffees go well with cigars and after trying it I'd have to agree.

With Spirits...I like cigars with Hine Cognac and George Dickel Tennesse No.12 "Sippin' Whisky. I also like cigars with Cream Sherry, Port, Maderia and strong Coffee.

I tend to enjoy a good bourbon while smoking one of my favorite cigars. Oddly enough, I had a guy tell me that a Diet Coke does a nice job of prepping and cleaning the palate when smoking a cigar. Personal experience--it works great, so I may try a bourbon and diet coke the next time...

Coffee & cigars has always been a great paring...especially if you add a little 'snort' of Cognac, Brandy, Whisky or the Mrs. and mine favorite...

I don't prefer spirits with my cigars, although if your buying I won't turn you down. I actually prefer something sweeter to round our the flavors, and cola dies this nicely. Another benefit is the sugar helps with the effects of the nicotine in a strong cigar, although it didn't seam to help much with that one El Rico Habano I smoked. That one made me except I wasn't laughing.

I'd only been smoking cigars a couple of weeks and I paid off my car so I decided to pick up something special. So with the shop owners help I picked out a rocky Patel and while I enjoyed it I was definitely not used to that much Vitamin N and thought I was gunna die for a few hours.
