driver updates question

i just bought a lexmark printer/ scanner and i am having trouble downloading the software because i have 22 out of date drivers. does anyone know of a way to update these without subscribing to anything and paying $29.99?

i know not everything is free, but im looking at this like those pc clean-up software.

they want you to upgrade, but the free version is good enough for me.

I hate to say it but that sounds more like a virus than anything else. If you have a antivirus try doing a full scan. If not go to...

Thats MSE, its free and it does a pretty good job IMO. After your sure your virus free, go here...

If you have a model thats not supported(unlikely) get back to us, but I think that should do you!

as being a pc technician for many years...assuming you have windows 7..plug in the printer..windows should see it..let it install the drivers..if something is asking you for money to "fix" your drivers ignore it..just go to the printer makers website and download from there..easy fix

it worked!! i have no virus', and i found the right printer. (took a couple tries) then there was the "no cart" issue, and no memory,, blah blah blah,,, but its done. i am scanning. and posting pictures from the mid 80's on facebook as revenge.
im sort of in a "old picture war" posting old embarrassing photos. man do i have some good ones too.
