    Question Most Lavender "Lavender Soap"

A friend is having a birthday in January. He has been DE shaving for about five years now and in that period of time has used only Proraso cream. While at my house a few days ago he expressed an interest in trying a soap for the first time. From what he said he would like a lavender soap with a pronounced lavender smell. Since he is somewhat frugal - er, I mean he is cheap - I know he would not buy a quality product for himself that is on the high price side. So this will be my birthday present to him.

However, I have not used a lavender soap in years so I am not a good judge of what would meet his needs. And so, I throw it up to you guys to come up with something. In your opinion what is the most lavender smelling soap?

Castle Forbes Lavender or AoS Lavender are your best bet. If you want to spend a little extra, I would say that the CF is worth it. The CF is more of a proper lavender scent in my opinion, but both are nice.

Edit: Sorry, CF is a cream so if that's off base, just disregard :)

The only help I can offer is rule one out. TOBS Lavender, for the cost, is pretty mediocre. Smells nice enough, but doesn't really offer an exceptional shave experience.

I'm planning on trying the RazoRock Chianti Lavender at some point in the not too distant future.

Razorock Chianti Lavender is wonderful but not a "pure" lavender scent. I recently tried QCS Lavender and really, really liked it. Smelled like real lavender, but not as "in your face" as Castle Forbes.

I have never used a lavender soap, but I've noticed you changed your avatar, didn't you?

Try ê-shave lavander. To me is the best smelling lavander soap I've ever tried (and it's a great soap, also).

QCS makes my favorite lavender scented shaving soap. I've tried several other lavender shaving soaps that weren't for me (e.g. D. R. Harris, TOBS, Vintage Blades, AOS). The scents were either really faint (AOS, Harris) or didn't smell like what I normally associate with lavender (all of them). The only exception that I've tried is the QCS one. The scent is the same general family type as CF lavender shaving cream. The performance is also about on par with D. R. Harris or AOS, but it might take just a few more swirls to get there.

You could get the c&s oxford travel size pucks 3 for 30$ and keep two for yourself

QED rules in glycerin pure eo lavender soaps.

Or, I'd go wtih T&H shave soap in the cup size for 11$ or so. Good soap w light lavender scent.

Vintage Blades also carries a good triple milled soap in lavender thats reasonable.

I like the scent of the lavender EO that QCS uses but I have only used the cream/croap. I assume they use the same EOs in their shaving soap, but I don't know to what intensity. But considering there are at least a hundred different natural lavender oils, the QCS choice is pretty scrumptious.

This Vintage Blades is my favorite lavender soap, then Taylor of Old Bond Street. I need to look into getting the QCS.

I love Taylor's Lavender soap. I call it English Lavender, because it's got a twist that just hits the right note for me.

He ate cold beans out of a can and drank some water, and then he saw the small mirror Parker had bought with the razor and the can of lather. He looked at himself and knew he had to take a chance on staying long enough to shave. He shaved, and that made him feel better. . .

I really liked the Benton Clay Lavender sample. It is a true lavender. I can't comment on the longevity of the scent, but this was a very good veggie soap. Slickness and cushion. It is on the cheap side. Maybe throw it in with some higher end stuff?

I have a lavender bush and love the scent, I may have to look for some of these recommendations myself!
