Default How many brushes do you regularly use

How many are in your normal rotation? I usually shave about every 3 days and just use my Shavemac 177. Do you daily shavers use more than one to allow more drying time for the previously used brush? Wondering if I need to add another to my stock.

this isn't about NEED, it's about WANT.
I have 3 right now. I'm looking at adding a chubby 2 or 3, and a shavemac flattop at some point.

I have 21 brushes now of which 18 see regular use. I don't have a SBAD.

Right now I have two brushes. One's my daily user - Morris & Forndran. The other, my EJ starter, is just used on travel now.

Lately I've just been rotating between my Semogue 1520, and 1305. I try to give them two day's worth of drying time between uses which has really helped with the breaking in of the 1520, It's really making some great lather now. I got the 1305 off the BST and it was already broken in and made an awesome lather the first time I used it.

I have 7 brushes. I use one brush for a week and then go on to the next brush.

I'm a daily shaver who uses only one brush. It is dry by the time I am ready to use it again the next morning.

Since you have 21, I guess I should go ahead and get another one or two. Thanks all.

I have one that I use right now and I'm waiting on one I ordered from WD that should be here in a couple of days. It'll be nice to switch between badger and boar right now. I'm contemplating ordering a horse hair but I don't know a whole about them yet. Little more research and I'll probably pull the trigger on one. I am open to suggestions about horse hair if anybody is feeling nice.

I regularly use one. I have three but my Duke2 gets daily use. My Wee Scot is for travel and will be pressed into service this week while my Semogue 610 is just used occasionally. I'm finding I like the lather made by a good badger better than a boar. Of course I've got a Thater on my Xmas wish list so maybe I'll have to expand my regular use brushes to two.

I have seven brushes that all have different characteristics (but all are face latherers). I decide which I feel like using on a shave by shave basis. Over the long run they all get about equal face time.

And I thought I had it bad having seven in use.

I find myself biting my lower lip. . .daily. . .trying to prevent additions to the gathering.

I use two - a VdH boar, mostly with hard soap (their soap) and an EJ super badger, mostly with TOBS and Proraso cream. It's hard for me to imagine needing more than one of each type but then I only own a new razor (EJ89) and an old Super Speed.

I have about a dozen but only use four of them regularly:

    Rooney 3/1
    Plisson
    TGN restored Fuller
    Vulfix Grosvenor 404 badger/boar mix

I shave every other day and sorta have my brushes paired up with the creams/soaps I use, so depending on what I'm in the mood for, that's what I'll use. On occasion, I'll use the same brush for a week or two, or a different one each shave for a couple of weeks. I never know until I'm about to get in the shower.

I was the same way, heck when I joined B&B I figured I only needed one razor so I bought a Fatboy, found out over time I was wrong. So just give it time and I'm sure you will aquire more stuff.

It's a matter of preference, not need. We can't tell you what you prefer.
