    week #45
    todays shave
    prep: shower
    Soap: The Fat
    Razor: 7/8 Joseph Ellot
    Honed: 3rd shave
    HHT: 4
    AS: proraso

1st WTG - growing a Mo for Movember means more tip and heel is used. other than that same old same old.
2nd XTG - Ear to nose.
3rd ATG - nice BBS shave.

10 days into my Mo and it is starting to get a bit of body to it. I have updated a photo here http://mobro.co/chris24 for those would like to view.
Shaving is taking a extra 5 minutes as I work around the Mo. Less to shave but it takes longer...go figure.
Enjoying growing this bad boy but are so looking forward to shaving it off with a sraight razor even more.

    week #48
    todays shave
    prep: shower
    Soap: Mikes's Hungarian Lavender
    Razor: 7/8 Hart
    Honed: fresh off the JNAT
    HHT: 5
    AS: Speick

1st pass : WTG. This was my remove the handle bar mo pass. I have been looking forward to it since I started Movember. I selected the Hart for it's 1/4 grind to take care of the extra growth. The Hart dispatched the Mo smooth and clean.
2nd Pass: XTG ear to nose. No mo to stop my flow, so back to my normal stroke.
    3rd pass: ATG.

Shave went well except for the square point bitting me. My focus was on the Mo removal and let the tip do it's thing. quick rub of the tip on the mirror and back at it I went.

Honing: This was my first shave with the Hart honed with a full nagura progresion on my JNAT. I have just aquired a Koma to make a full nagura set.
I think this is the best edge I have given a razor to date. I am one happy honer

Soap: Mike's soap is new to my rotation. It is leaving my face felling nice post shave. I got a few samples just wish I got one of each he has to offer but I think I will be back for more so will correct that later.
I tried looking for NZ made shaving soaps and to my suprise found three. It would be wrong for me not to try at least one.
May try this one from Global soap they state "Fresh spicy scent. With avocado oil & NZ clay. For a natural moisturizing shave – biodegradable."
I am leaning towards soaps as they give me good glide and leave my face just right post shave.

In the post is a TM 2 1/2 steerhide with handles.
Now AD's I have been throwing a bit of coin at my gear this year. Time to try and wind them in.
Did I just say I was going to try and wind the AD's in. Just about to order the Global soap today so may start that tomorrow LOL.

    week #1 year + a few days
    todays shave
    prep: shower
    Soap: MWF
    Razor: 7/8 Hart
    Honed: 7 shaves since honing
    HHT: 4
AS: Proraso - Cologne : Geo F Trumpers - GFT

1st: WTG Good beard reduction the Hart is still holding a good edge.
    2nd XTG: ear to nose.
    3rd ATG: = BBS

Its just over a year now since I started using straights. Can not remember the last time I used a DE. It's straight all the way.
HHT - I normally don't bother with the HHT except for when honing. My shave tells me when to return to the hone. Today the Mrs left a few hairs in the bathroom so after stropping I put one to good use. HHT 4 after approx 7 days of use, still a great shave.
It was a nice relaxing shave as I am now off work for the holidays.

There are a few razors I have to hone during the break. I have a near wedge that I have set the bevel on just need to take it for a JNAT ride. I have invested a bit of sweat equity in this razor already so are looking forward to my first near wedge shave. Will test this one with a few days growth.

    shave 28th December
    prep: shower
    Soap: Tabac
    Razor: 7/8 Hart
    Honed: fresh off the hone
    HHT: 4
AS: Proraso - Cologne : Geo F Trumpers - GFT

This was a special shave, as it was my wedding day. went with a 4 pass shave. I had honed the razor just for the day with a full JNAT Nagura progresion.
The shave was very relaxing and left me BBS, just what the order of the day required.
Both Tabac and the Hart were not on my pre selected shave list but they just seamed right on the day so I put them to work.
it's great to have choices on the shaving gear not just to fit the beard type but the mood or occasion as well.

    Happy New Year all.
