Question Lathering Soap with Shavemac #25 23mm Finest Badger (not silvertip)

Hey fellas, do any of you use a similar brush for lathering with soap?
I've learned that a brush this dense will take more product to get going lather-wise, and this thing is fabulous for lathering creams, but i'll keep swirling and swirling and it doesn't seem to load up with soap in quite the same way. I have a feeling it relates to the water ratio, but maybe there's something wrong with my swirling techniques.

I played around with some Ogallala Bay Rum + Sweet Orange soap tonight, and then with some Col. Conk Bay Rum soap, and while my synthetic whipped up some lathery goodness, the finest badger one wasn't performing as well.

I'm going to assume it's me, and not my brush that is the problem. If in fact finer badger hair brushes don't work as well with soap, then let me know that too!
    Thanks!

It would be helpful if you posted some pics of your lathering with the brush. Otherwise, it's difficult to say.

How long have you been using this brush? Could it need a good cleaning? I have lather issues about every 6-7 months with the brushes that get the most use and usually a good cleaning will bring them back to life.

Thanks for the input, gents. I'll make a video and post it here later. And I don't think I've used it up to the point that it will need a cleaning; I'm gonna assume it's something I'm doing, or not doing properly.

Shavemac are lather machines. Most likely you're using too much water and not enough product. There is a great tutorial (sticky) in the Soap forum.

Ah, yeah. I actually shaved last night with it, whipping up a few pumps of KMF Lavender. My trouble seems to just be lifting enough soap off of the puck. I will now head over to the soap forum to check out that sticky referenced above. Thanks guys!

Try starting with a fairly dry brush and then slowly add water to the puck as you load the brush only a couple of drops at a time. A too dry dry brush or too much water will make the loading much harder.
