Default Lathering soaps - this may be a stupid question...

I have recently purchased the tabac shave stick to try it out before I make the plunge and buy the full size one in the bowl - I travel a fair bit so the shave stick will be used for that!!

My question is once I have lathered up the tabac in the bowl it comes in, do I then need to rinse off the excess soap/lather form the puck before replacing the lid?

Any tips or walkthroughs on lathering tabac successfully in the bowl would be appreciated too!

No, you do not. I rarely rinse off my soap. I just let the excess lather stay in my mug until tomorrow.
It is just soap, hot water and a sharp blade. It isn't rocket science or a Zen ritual.

If you let the lather remain, it'll just dry up and turn into powdered soap!

You swirl your brush in the Tabac bowl for at least 30 seconds, then you build your lather in a separate bowl for a minute or two. Reward: great lather!

Great soap. I put a little water on the puck while I wash up, then pour it off. I hold the bowl upside down and do about 100 swirls, then face lather. I don't rinse or wipe the puck, just the outside of the bowl so it's not slippery. Sometimes when done I leave the lid off for an hour to let it dry, sometimes not. I notice no difference.
