Default first trip to ALCATRAZ i know Im a LOCAL

Well I have never been to Alcatraz until last weekend, and I have lived in SF my whole life(24yrs).It was a great experience that me or my gf will never forget.Just thought I would share some of the pics that we took,it was the night tour so it was pretty cool to see the city's skyline from the rock.Even the prisoners on alcatraz enjoyed a nice badger brush shave

I spent one Friday afternoon in SF while at a convention in San Jose. We never made it across. Just watched the seals on the boardwalk. Picked up a t-shirt and shot glass, both for about $12. Would like to go back.

Wonderful pics! Thanks. About 15 years ago, I took the ferry over and swam back. It's an annual race from the prison to aquatic park in San Francisco. That water is cold!

I love SF, and Alcatraz is one of my favorite places to visit. When I was there, I noticed that the fridge in the kitchen is just like the G.E. Frigidaire that was in the house where I grew up. That fridge ran continuously from 1940, when my parents were married, until I unplugged it in 1998, when I sold the house after my mom died.

If you happened to take a picture of that refrigerator, please post it here!

The Alcatraz tour, especially with the guided audio tour, is a fantastic experience. Groups from various nations, each listening to the tour in a different language, move in semi-unison through that historically resonant place as the audio brings it to life.
