    Stag Antler Handles
    .
Stunning natural stag antler from either roe deer or red deer.
22mm silvertip badger knot. From £47.50 (approx. $75)
(I may sometimes offer these in larger knots in red deer stag antler in a large "Chubby" size handle)

    Kenya Soapstone Handles
    ..
An absolutely fabulous handle material. Lots of natural variation in the stone. Purples, rusts and lilacs as illustrated available at the moment, but I have another batch of stone on the way to me from Kenya in other colours and patterns. I buy the stone direct from a friend in a village I visited in Kenya where the people are very poor. Each order I place for 30 blanks will feed several families for a month!
Offered in various shapes and sizes, and with various silvertip badger knots.
    Prices from £59.00 (Approx. $93)

    The Cone

I started making this design handle on a whim, but it has proved to be a really comfortable handle and very secure in the hand. Various heights and many different materials. Resins, Kenya Soapstone and various woods.
22mm specially selected soft silvertip badger knot.
From $37.50 to £75.00 (approx. $59 to $118) depending on handle material.

    A Pint of Guinness

This is a resin which I have specially made for me here in England. Black and white, and just like freshly poured Guinness. So what better handle shape to have than a pint glass scaled down to size!
    22mm Silvertip badger knot.
    Price £40.00 (approx. $63)

    Generation 2 Wood Handles
    ..
I call these "Generation2" (or G2 for short), because of the new hard glaze finish that I am now using on wood handles. (It is not a varnish. It is more like an acrylic resin). The first coat of finish is an ultra thin liquid (like very thin superglue actually) that literally soaks into the pores of the wood and sets hard and seals it. Then there are up to 12 further coats of a thicker viscosity which set rock hard, each bonding itself to the last, and the handle is finally sanded and polished. You can see the high glaze in these photos. That makes the wood totally impervious to water. For good. Some people are worried about the longevity of wood handled brushes, but with this finish those worries are a thing of the past. Now you can have wood handled brushes with the long lasting qualities and hardness of resin handles.... plus all of the natural beauty!
Prices from £37.50 (approx. $59) for a 22mm silvertip. More depending on wood type.

    Burl Wood & Resin Handles
    .
An expensive material for handles. I make these brushes only occasionally, and in various shapes. The handles are made from a burl wood where the natural burl surface has been bonded to a very high quality iridescent resin, to produce a stunning effect. I call this shade "Kingfisher Burl" because it really does have the flash of a Kingfisher when you move it in the light.
Price around £80 (approx. $126) depending on Silvertip knot type and size.

    Masur Birch Handles

A rare and very expensive wood from Scandinavia. Highly decorative. Has a holographic ripple flame combined with attractive dark streaks and lines. It is also sometimes known as Karelian Birch—with Karelia being a region between Finland and Russia. Once thought to have been caused by the boring larvae of a certain beetle, Masur Birch in Norway has now been shown to be hereditary, classifying the name of the variant as Betula pendula var. Carelica. Finished with my new hard glaze that is totally waterproof. See the shine on that brush. I have enough of this wood to make just 48 brushes.
Price from £55 (approx. $87) 22mm silvertip badger. More for larger and extra silvertip knots.

    Liquid Gold Handles

Gold and black, and it really does look like liquid gold. Flowing and with lots of sparkle.
Available in a tulip shaped handle, with a 22mm silvertip badger knot.
    Price £40 (approx. $63)

Brushes shown here are available at http://www.pensoftheforest.co.uk/sha...ing-brush.html

    Shipping:
Tracking of packets recently sent shows them to arrive on US soil within 1 or 2 days, then they are in the hands of USPS and can take a little longer to reach you.

What happens if I don't like the brush?
Buying sight-unseen on line from a photo on a web page is not always easy. I appreciate that. I am sure that you will like my brushes once you handle them, but if for any reason you are not satisfied, then assuming that you have not used the brush then first email me at [email protected] and I will make a full no-hassle refund, (You pay the postage both ways, which I think is fair). Brushes returned must be returned in the same packaging, and clearly marked "Return to maker for refund" on the customs slip, otherwise UK customs will charge me 20% VAT!

Oh yes.... I also make high quality fountain pens in the same resin, wood and stone materials.

£25 ($38.75) of the proceeds from the sale of each brush goes to the widows and orphans of the village in Kenya where this soapstone is dug. I buy the stone direct from them. They are extremely poor people who have virtually no income. £25 will feed a family for a month!
