Default Question about Frank Shaving brushes

Guys, I consider buying one of Ian Tiang's Finest Badger brushes but there are a lot of them in the same price range $22-23. Does anybody have an opinion whether the knots are about the same quality, density, etc. of those Finest Badgers?

Could be "hit or miss". I requested a Westwick (think that is name) set with a low loft. Been totally pleased with it.

Thanks. I just jumped on one of their short loft Finest in black. I hope I'm going to like it as a second brush. I'm still on my first pure badger entry level brush so I don't know much about differences. I'll see.

Mine lathers very well. But, since I like stiffer brushes and face lather my preference is for Semogue 620, Simpson two-band, and the like. Just ordered a Vie Long Horse hair to try. My Frank's is the only brush that fits in my razor / brush combo stand so it is rightfully proudly displayed ;~)

They won't have the density of a Shavemac or Simpson but are an inexpensive way to upgrade from a Pure or Black Badger Brush, satisfy your curiosity and give one a try. I had a stock FS Sliver-Tip that had very soft tips and worked better with creams due to the higher loft, If you get a Silver-Tip and use hard soaps I'd recommend a loft under 48mm to add stiffness.

I also figured it out it shouldn't be as good as more expensive brushes out there but as you said it I'm curios to find out if I can notice any difference from my first and only Pure Badger. That's why I decided on a short loft Finest, so I can use it for face lathering with cream.

Here's mine, not a single problem since arriving in the late summer. In finest. Shed some hairs but nothing now. Used twice a week while the Duke gets a good dry out.

This is exactly the one I just bought yesterday.
