    Default Jim Beam Devils Cut

Ok so I saw this advertised and we had a thread many moons ago...

Fast forward to last month, or rewind, and I was up in Vegas, our shopping mecca, and I saw it and forgot to buy it. Fast forward to today and I found it in the local grocery. Picked it up as I have been dying to try it.

    Whats the word?

I love Jim Beam Black and am a real Fan of the Jim Beam White, really hoping I won't be disappointed!

Drink some, already. Inquiring minds want to know your opinion.
    My mileage does vary.

    Aarrgghhh!!!

I am still in evening mode... I got off work at 7am, I will be going to bed soon and then after turkey I will be breaking out the Devils Cut, probably with a Killians and a nice cigar. Check back this evening and I will have a mini review!

Ok guys, sorry for the delay!

I didn't get to try any until this AM. Since that sounds bad I will explain...

I work Security graveyards, basically 11pm-7am, at a Casino, so if I am having a drink in the AM, its really my PM!

Ok, now that I don't sound like an alcoholic. I am usually a couple drink a week type of guy, 1-3 on days off and maybe 1 day a week I will have one or two after work. Usually I tend towards the Rum & Coke w/Lime, a Cuba Libre. Occasionally I find myself having a hankering for a Bourbon and beer.

My usual beer would be Killians with a shot of Jim Beam or JM Black. Well I recently found the JB Devils Cut and had my first one today. First thing I notice is its 90 Proof, Not 80. Strangely this is not something that comes across as much as say with a Rum. It has a smooth taste, comparable to the JB Black, with maybe just a hint of extra bite at the back. This little bite could be caused by the extra Proof or the darker nature since its barrel extracts. Overall I find it pretty much the same as the JB Black but just a touch smokier.

All that said I am not a sipping man so my tastes are judged of of that initial swallow and swish before a swig of beer. Either way it is marrying well with a nice Nicaruagan Cigar so I give it a thumbs up!!

Now, take this with a grain of salt but I love bourbon. I prefer Buffalo Trace, Elija Craig, etc. A guy I work with spends way more than I do and certainly prefers finer bourbons. He tried this because it seemed interesting, and he didnt have anything good to say about it. Might be ok for mixing, but can certainly cheaper bourbons for mixing.
Dripp - he who loves shaving...
