Now I understand the allure of the Shavemac, Plisson, Rooney, Simpson, et al shaving brush. If I had the money, I'd get them too. My problem is that I hate to pay $$$ for something only to be disappointed. I've tried some of these brushes but they just don't do it for me. I like 24-25mm lofts; soft bristles but not floppy; and scrubby but not scratchy.
I've mentioned it before in this thread but the Kingsley Super Badger is an amazing brush. Since Kingsley brushes are folded and vulcanized there isn't a definitive knot size. The knot size equivalent is 25mm. The height is 4.25 inches. The handle has a great, heavy feel. I know the C&E Best gets a lot of love and deservedly so. The Kingsley is better if you ask me. And they're both $40 + shipping.
