My weekend shave is COMPLETELY different!
There's one or two special items in my weekend shave.
Heck no! I do it all 7 days a week!

I *make time* to shave, regardless. If I know it will be a really short night, I'll shower & shave the night before. Whipping up lather with a good soap takes all of 60 seconds, dispensing and spreading foam takes 30 seconds, so what's the difference?
Yes, I might take 10 (or 30) minutes longer to shower and shave when I've got 10 (or 30) minutes longer in the morning, but I don't use canned goo. (Although, given the choice between canned goo and modern Williams, I'd certainly pick canned goo... I've heard La Toja canned is pretty decent stuff - but unless I'm forced between than and Williams, I won't be finding out any time soon.)
Brian - I think it would be totally inappropriate for me to even contemplate what I am thinking about.
I still keep a
Mach 3 and can of Barbasol in shower to shave back of neck 3 times weekly. Otherwise, I shave mostly cold water, cold lather with one of ten DE safety razors.
It's not like I'm ideologically opposed to foam or anything, but what would be the point? Face lathering with something like Arko stick or Proraso cream is as close to the same speed as makes no difference, and the lather feels better on my face. Face lathering with any of my soaps is fast enough. It doesn't take that much extra time to rinse out the brush.
I might shave with Barbasol and Bic disposables in some hypothetical airline-lost-my-bags scenario, I suppose.

Even when I still used cartridge razors I shaved with moisturiser, foam dislikes my face!
I work on sundays, and that is the one day of the week I am least likely to shave. I have been using shaving sticks quite a bit now, and it is not too much trouble time wise to get a great lather going though.
"I do it all 7 days a week." However I only try some kinds of new products, namely blades, razors & soaps, on Saturday to be sure there is no hurry.
Extra sebum nulla salus
I didn't vote as there is not an appropriate response, but when I was on holiday the other week, I took a miniature can of foam from the SQ lounge to use on the first and last nights of our holiday not wanting to get my brush wet then have to pack it away for the traveling bits. I have to confess it was actually an OK product, not great, nowhere near a proper soap and brush lather, but in a pinch, for a short time, acceptable.
I'm sorry, will you excommunicate me now?
My weekend shave is often my straight razor shave time as I'm not in a rush to be anywhere. I'll also occasionally go to a barber for a SR shave on the weekends. Since I'm still developing my SR technique, the shave takes longer. During the week, I'm almost exclusively a DE shaver.

Duh, helps if I read a bit closer. To the topic - I NEVER use foam - never have, never will. I went from electrics to brush and bowl and a Mach 3. Cans of foam always seemed so messy and wasteful. However, to answer the poll question, I do shave differently - using the straight - on the weekends, than I do during the week - using a DE. But I always make my own lather any day of the week at home or traveling.

The only time I use foam is when I'm stealing dinosaur embryos

Chris - The burn says it's working!
I joined B&B on July 19, 2010. I tossed my half-used can of Barbasol the next day. With the exception of one or two days where I skipped shaving, I've used a brush and soap/cream every day since then.

Sometimes, I will experiment with different things on a weekend.
I have some travel cans of gillette series gel and edge that I will break out just for kicks.
The shaves are pretty good, but the experience is not as pleasant and doesn't save much, if any, time.
Other than a different soap or cream I shave the same everyday.

I haven't started the DE shave yet since all my supplies are enroute. But I have given thought to this.
I think I am going to use my fusion cartridge for shaving my head in the shower after I face shave with the DE. The left over shave cream in the bowl will be applied to my head before entering the shower.
That's the plan anyway.
If I am use a straight it will be on the weekend where I have time to pamper myself.

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." Robert Frost
After many years of blade-shaving, with occasional weekend visits to whatever was the latest cartridge type shave solution, I had to take on two jobs to make ends meet, and was always in a rush, sometimes needing to shave more than once in a given 24 hour period, but always wanted to do it as quick as possible.
From 1993 to 2011, five days a week, I used a Gillette Sensor and one or another instant canned shave product, just a single pass, and then on weekends I reverted, but mostly used creams, not soaps, with my Gillette Slim. Anyone having been on hand in here last winter will have read my complaint about not finding a new Sensor handle at the Drugstore or Supermarket leading me to the 'Net, and from Google searching, to B&B.
The real fact was that after 2004, I was retired, and kept on with the habit, without a need to rush. Now, I take my time, and enjoy my shaves, but I get close enough, that with the all-white lack of whisker color, I skip a day fairly often, not just Saturdays (it was always my habit not to shave Saturdays).

Try face-lathering with a cream and a brush.
I face-lather exclusively now. It is very quick, and I get to use my GFT creams and my brushes and massage my face a bit before shaving. I don't think it takes many more seconds than squirting out some goo from a can and spreading it around the face with one's fingers.
From time to time there will be a thread here about canned goo and something that I want to try. Other than that I haven't touched the stuff. Maybe I'll use up what I have left during Lent next year.
It's not so much that I'm a foaming at the mouth anti-goo guy but rather that I don't want to be switching back and forth between lathering setups all the time. Maybe I'll keep several mugs of different soaps around, but that's a minimal disruption in a process that I normally do on automatic pilot before my first cup of coffee.
I see no reason to do something less enjoyable most of the time when I can do something more enjoyable all of the time.
