I also find a bit of talc to be quite soothing on my neck after a shave (so long as I am not going out right away).

How are you all applying your talc without making a mess? I just started using it when we moved to the south I put it in a tube sock and pat away. Is there a better way you use?
Sure get one of the big bulb headed neck duster brushes beauty shops use to brush cut hair off of necks.
Shake talc out onto its top and then tap the bottom of the brush handle on a hard surface to get the talc down among the bristles. Applies talc very evenly. There are barbershop versions of these in horse hair and the like, but all seem pretty thin and not as good to me. I think Marvy is actually an age old barbershop equipment brand.
A sock is not bad either.
