    Default Dead shaving cream?

Hello everyone. I've been lurking here for a bit and have a question. Does anyone know why a tubbed shaving cream would stop lathering? I've had the cream for a couple of months and got a few good shaves out of it when it was new. Now no matter what proportion of cream to water I use it simply won't lather at all. Any ideas? Thanks in advance all.

Welcome Snark Hunter to B&B. Important question: brand of SC and where did you purchase? What is your water type (from the tap, that is... )?

It was Mama Bear's Irish Glen. I hesitate to post that as Sue is great and was very helpful with another product I bought from her. I do have fairly hard water but I know how to work with it and get great lather with my Taylor's, Proraso and Mama Bear Attar of Roses.

That was right about the time I had the bad batch... too many moisurizers and it didn't lather...

Send me a pm and I will send you another one tomorrow...

Well you can't beat that. There's a reason why Mama Sue is so well respected around here.

That was awesome... not to mention it pretty much sealed the deal for me as the next cream I will buy...

I have a tub of MB's Irish Glen cream, and I've also experienced that it lathers differently, but I have no complaints with this product. And the scent? Awesome...if I had to describe it, I'd say shamrock (whatever those smell like, lol). It does not, at least to me, smell like Irish Spring soap.

It seems that I may have a defective tub as Sue generously offered to replace it. The one I have currently simply will not lather. No amount of tinkering with cream and water levels has helped. The fact that it did work when I first got it is what puzzles me.

Maybe there was actually cream in the tub at that time? An empty tub will not lather. *ducks*
