Nivea ASB
It is just soap, hot water and a sharp blade. It isn't rocket science or a Zen ritual.
+1 on the Nivea for sensitive skin. My local CVS sells it.
I voted for the AFTA, mostly because it's the only thing I used as my AS for more than 30 years (Classic scent, though). Worked very well for me for all those years--no complaints at all. Since finding B&B, though, I discovered the wonderful world of splashes and so I have about a half a dozen full containers of the Classic scent way in the back of my bathroom cabinet. If you're interested in any or all of them and are willing to spring for the postage, they can be yours gratis.

I have some ASB's from vendors like Em's Place, Prairie Creations, Mugso Real, and Proraso, but for a perfectly fine drugstore ASB my choice is Neutrogena Post Shave Lotion.
Better in terms of what?
Mark
Another vote for Nivia ASB.

Normally I'm a Nivea Sensitive guy but I just ran out of it and I bought a bottle of the Afta Fresh at Walmart on sale for less than $2.00, and so far I've used it twice with great results. About the size of a English pea is all you need and the results are about the same as the Nivea, soothing without leaving you greasy. Bottom line the Afta is a winner.
L'Oreal Men's Expert is actually nicely soothing, no greasy, light & unoffensive scent, and about $7 or $8 at CVS and other locations. I don't personally use it any longer due to me personally avoiding parabens, but if parabens don't bother you it's very good.
Brian - I think it would be totally inappropriate for me to even contemplate what I am thinking about.
L'Oreal Max
Nivia Sensitive ( although not a fan of the new reformulation with Piroctone Olamine)
Proraso ASB - yes, it's a drugstore ASB here in Canada
Ha! I just voted in my own poll.
Just a follow-up post as I have now tried both of these balms.
Afta Fresh (while described as a light lotion on the package) felt somewhat oily/greasy to me after application.
Gillette Sensitive gel is light and soothing and has the clean Cool Wave scent. It seems to be very similar to the Gillette Series Wild Rain Gel that was discontinued several years ago.
Thanks,
Mike
Nivia :)
Nivea sensitive mixed with a drop of aloe very gel.
Have not used them... Sorry.
Have become a TOBS, Feather blade, Merkur 34c HD, and Proraso splash man!

+1 on the Nivea
If it doesn't fit force it. If it breaks you needed a new one.
lol. +1 on Nivea too.
Yet another vote for Nivea ASB.
