Try the CVS generic equivalent. Just as good and cheaper.

Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Post Shave Balm. That & Zirh Soothe are the only 2 I use now, and I've tried plenty of them! The Nivea is just too thin for my taste, I like something a little balmier.

Nivea Extra Sensitive, Brut ASB, Loreal Comfortmax, even Neutrogena Triple Protect. Haven't tried the Afta or Gillette in decades..

Of course you could go batsh*t crazy and use Alcolado Glacial.

This really intrigued me so much, that I bought some of this stuff online. It came a few days ago & I tried it straight after a shave w/my FB on 9. Nowhere near as much burn as I was expecting! Wow does it cool your face though! Face was downright ICY for at least an hour, and felt cool for several hours. I also really like the mild lime scent of it, Lime is one of my favorite scents for grooming products.

This will be great for the summer, but not so much in the winter... I wasn't crazy about it while we were out picking our Christmas Tree that afternoon! LOL.

    Nivea ASB

It's either Men-U Matt Moisturiser or Proraso ASB for me; I'll take a pass on Afta and Gillette.

I have used both, and the Afta gets my vote. As far as other cheap drugstore balms, the Nivea is my favorite, followed by Brut, followed by Afta, followed by Gilette.

Nivea is probably better overall (having used a decent amount of drugstore brands) but I'm a recent Afta convert. It contains an ingredient (allantoin) that is really effective for ingrown hairs, so if you have issues with chronic ingrowns definitely go Afta there (surprisingly few drugstore brands contain it and its in the cheapest one, who knew?).

In order ( use/used them all):
    1. Nivea ASB Sensitive (never without it). I have been wanting to try the Neutrogena.
    2. Afta (recently returned to it after trying the Gillette). I like the smell and it feels refreshing, moisturizing.
    3. Gillette (it will do and fits nice in a travel kit)

Although I might switch the order of ranking a bit between the Nivea ASB and the Mennen Afta, particularly in the original classic scent, all three are in my experience very good products reasonably priced and readily available. I've used the Afta (through several different formula modifications) off and on since 1969.

Out of those two I've only used the Gillette, and I like it pretty well.

L'Oreal Men's Expert is my favorite of the drugstore ASBs I've tried.
