Oil Safety Razors?

For an adjustable or TTO, that would be true, but a 3 piece not so much. So, if I were going o store away a 3 piece, I would break it down and wrap it.

Safety razors don't rust, with only a couple exceptions they're made of brass and/or zamak.
And they really don't need to be oiled, they were designed to function without it and have lasted a half century or more just fine.
In fact, oil will often attract and collect dirt, causing the works to get gummed up quicker than otherwise.

Zamak is the problem in my opinion. And taking into account that the threads of the Barberpole is a point of wear on the razor I think its a good idea to keep a film of oil on those threads to keep them from corroding. It wouldn't be a problem if Merkur didn't have issues with plating. But from what I have learned on here if one finds green corrosion on their razor its a sign that the plating may be compromised in that area. Especially if its brass or zamak.
