RAZOR PORN ALERT!
YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!

Hey guys I've got a few photos of some lucky snags I've had over the last couple of weeks or so and thought I would share. I rushed the setup so you can blame the photographer and not the camera for the quality of the pictures but hopefully they will serve the purpose.

First up is a nice 40s-early 50s American Aristocrat (cased and papered) I got off Ebay from a woman who was selling some of her uncle's personal possessions. The gentleman was 80 years old and I gathered was going into a nursing home although she didn't explicitly say. It's not NOS but it is absolutely Mint-case and all. She reckoned that he may never have used it. I will post more detailed pictures in the future but it is truly a thing of beauty to a razor aficionado. Undoubtedly the finest Aristocrat I've ever seen. This one will do no more shaving if it ever has.

Next up is a mint TV Super Speed (papered) that I picked up in a lot. No heat stress cracks in that case. Like the razor it is mint. I don't think this razor was ever used.

Rare gold aluminium "HD DR" (cased and with the original French blade pack). HD DR is in quotes because this thing is so light it nearly floats out of your hand.

Unexpected thrill acquisition of the month-F2 NOS Super Speed cased and papered. Ok I grant you the SS may not be a huge blip on the RAD radar but they are a fine looking razor. I bought this really for the case alone which I could tell was mint. The seller gave no details about the SS itself. Imagine my shock and pleasant surprise when I got the thing and realised it was an NOS SS. The instructions and blade pack are still in the cello.

Last but not least here is one I sort of stumbled across. I know I said I rushed the setup but there is nothing amiss with the white balance in this photo-that's a genuine gold plated Gillette Super Speed H2 date code. More detailed photos to follow once I clean it up.

:clover: Got this a week ago but my computer craped out. This is one heluva shaver. Many thanks to Gabe for the case!

I decided to try my hand at making a strop and while I was out getting leather and stuff for the strop I picked up a King 6000 wet stone. Now to start practicing my honing and stropping skills on one of my old razors. I also purchased Lynn Abrams "World of Straight Razor Shaving" DVD and Bill Ellis's "Straight Razor Restoration" CD, can't wait until they get here.

A case of RAD. Was I feeling a little sad? Well, not any longer...

Merkur Vision 2000 (or 2007).

Mein Gott, this thing is big and heavy. The razor equivalent of the Leopard tank... Almost scary... :scared:

I agree, it is like a tank. Let me know if you notice anything unusual about the razor once you get a blade inserted. On mine one side of the blade seems more 'open' or aggressive than the other. I will try to take a picture and post on the Safety Razor portion of the forum so that you will see what I mean.

Wow, that is cool!

Not a New Blade but the original scales cracked so I thought I would but together the first Livi - Williams (At least I think so). Beautiful Polished Kudo tip horn. Actually approved the balance of razor and boy is it prudddy:001_tt1:
