I'd like to have a decent boar that is around the same size as my tweezerman cheapie brush. I still dont quite understand the terminology to know what loft and other terms mean. I love my omega 49 but would like to have something a bit smaller

Semogue 1470.

Simpson, when you want a scratchy overpriced brush...
^ Can't go wrong with 1470. Semogue also offers 1460; same knot different handle.

I have both the 1460 and 1470 and it's going to be considerably scrubbier than your 49...even after break-in. Just keep that in mind. If you don't want anything with stiffer bristles I would suggest either the Semogue 1305 or another Omega, like the 10065 or 66.

My 10066 is a nice brush but still rather large. In the Omega-line there are quite a few alternatives like the 10019 and its cousins.
The 40033 is a great performer as well when you like the smallish handle.
They all have lofts (=lenght of hair coming out of the handle) around 50mm with a nice density to them.
I must to the barber's, monsieur, for methinks I am marvellous hairy about the face
I'm really enjoying my Omega 10290

I picked up an Omega 11047 from WCS for $14 shipped. Not too bad. It appears that it's a bit smaller than my tweezerman, but that will be ok. A friend let me see a Wee Scot and it's a bit bigger than it. I want the Wee Scot too, but I've spent waaay to much.

That's a beautiful small brush.
Nice.
And keep saving for the Wee Scot, you'll love it.

Have a nice day!
