Truefitt & Hill 1805 Shave Cream Jar -very good, feels good after the shave also
Geo F Trumper Shave Cream - Rose - good, but felt its not that lubricating, and sort of dry.
Bluebeards Revenge shaving cream-good,but again felt its much dry and not that smooth while shaving

    aftershave
Geo F Trumper Coral Shaving Skin Food - very good
    Proraso Aftershave Lotion - good
    Proraso Aftershave creamy lotion- good

Hello and welcome! First let me say that I am NOT knowledgeable in shaving but have tried a few of the things you are talking about here and may offer some additional feedback. I only started wet shaving in July of this year. If you have questions on specific type of products you could post those the individual forums for that type product, such as Safety Razors, Shaving Brushes, Creams, Soaps, etc.

I have a different model but the same head. Perfect first razor, many use it.
    shaving creams-
Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood -not yet tried
This is one of my favorites. I like it a lot, cant' go wrong. Try it already. True honest scent.
Haven't tried these but if any feel dry you could put a little more water in or add a drop of a pre-shave oil or glycerine.
    aftershave
Geo F Trumper Coral Shaving Skin Food - very good
    Proraso Aftershave Lotion - good
    Proraso Aftershave creamy lotion- good
These are all pretty standard and many feel are good too.
    brush
100% Silvertip Badger Bristle Shaving Brush- expensive, and did not find it that good.
Edwin Jagger 1ej946sds Traditional English Best Badger- very good
I'm about to buy a best badger, I have a silver tip and sometimes it's too soft when I have a day or two of growth. Looking for something stiffer at times.
    blades-trying different samples for ex feathers,merkur,7 0 clock,derby etc
Keep trying samplers till you find a couple of them that you want to bulk up on. I like the Feathers and the Personna Reds.

want to try out in coming days
    Queen Charlotte shaving cream
Try these out. You have to lather them up in the right way but they are great creams with great scents. Different from the rest. I got two of their samplers (10 samples) and about to buy a few big tubs. Can't go wrong with these.

Welcome aboard! I see you started at the top of the ladder with your purchases. Give the Merkur blades a try - many consider those the 'standard', and you will find that all blades are compared to them.

Hello obaid from India (Yeah Baby!!!).

Welcome aboard the B & B (besides being enrolled in the fictional, sacred and utopian Order of Shavedom). Please feel free to come up to the promenade / sun deck & 'sit-a-spell'.

Sounds like your off to a great start and yes,...this Forum has the knowledge, ideas, and alround 'know-how' to assist in your Wet-Shaving experience. In a nut-shell...your 'gonna' love it here.

    Q. What brand of razor blades are you using?

Because the majority, if not all of us members would say it's very wise and 'sage' advice to purchase a Razor Blade Sampler to see what blade would be a good fit (mild, moderate & aggressive, ect...), for your face and Razor. By the way, I happen to like Shark Super Chrome with my DE Merkur's 23C & 38C razors.

"Merkur; Solingen quality, Time-tested Tradition with Modern Design".

If you do get a Sampler, my advice is to try 2,3,4 or 5 blades (however which amount per blade brand), before moving on to the next blade.

    Also, long ago when I received my Sampler, I started a Thread entitled "In what Order should I test these Sampler Razor Blades?", and the best advice was from member Optometrist a.k.a David who stated;

"I say jump straight in with the feathers. Yes, they are sharp, but you learn very quickly to let the weight of the razor do the work for you. If you can get the feather right, then it's plain sailing with the others. A few nicks and cuts early on are nothing to worry about and stand you in good stead. Start with a lesser blade and it's a continual learning process as you step up the level of sharpness".

    Also, member Npsarros stated, "Keep a spreadsheet with every shave [you], have taken, rating each blade as [you], go along". My spread data ratings reads in columns as follows;

Razor Blade / Country / Type - Sharpness? (aggressive, moderate sharpness, mild sharpness, tugging or pulling, ect...), - Closeness of Shave? (DFS, CCS, BBS, ect...) - Smoothness/Roughness of Shave? (moderately smooth, very smooth, very, very smooth, ect...) - Comfort of Shave? (no irratation, slight irratation, touch of burn, itching, ect...) - Overall Rating? (awesome, great, passable or unpleasant), and Compatible with your Razor(s)? (yes or no).

PM me with your e-mail address and I will send you my workable spread sheet example.

The Thread "Wet Shaving Instructions and Tutorials", maybe of great interest to you and is very informative.

Although, you may not be additted yet (I think I'm holding up fairly well...with a few exceptions), because we all suffer (gladly and are doomed perhaps), from this shaving complusion (and other Acquisition Disorders), because at times..."Resistance is futile".
