Default Does this sound about right?

I haven't shaved with a DE razor in 45 years, so I'd say that I'm a newbie once again. However, after just a week, I actually look forward to shaving in the morning. I'm retired, and since I don't have to rush off to work, I can spend as much time as I want on pre-shave preparation.

Presently, I am using a Merkur 34C with a Derby blade, Proraso soap in the green tub and a Mason Pearson Super Badger brush.

I get a SAS with one pass (WTG) + a little touch-up, DFS with two passes (WTG) and a little touch-up, and BBS with two passes (WTG) and one pass (ATG).

The only question I have is, how can wet shaving save me money? I have ordered a sh!tload of soaps, creams, razors and brushes in the past week!

Is this whole wet shaving thing a ploy by the Gillettes and Schicks to simply gouge more cashola out of us rubes? I'm sure they are all secret majority owners of TOBS, TTT, DRH etc...

    Saving money....sheeeesh!

Saving money? It's a rumor started by Merkur and the other companies.
We all believe it, right guys?

Don't blame DE shaving - you could have bought and used all those brushes and creams and splashes and whatnot with any razor.

Another prime example of 'It's not the shaving that saves you money, it's you that saves you money'.

Yes, wet shaving will save you money that you can then spend on traditional gentlemen's colognes. Stop by and visit the fragrance forum for more helpful info.

The only way it will save you money, is not to spend time on the badger and blade.
