I'm on such a Van Der Hagen kick right now it's not even funny. I just wish the presented their soaps in wooden bowls with fancy logos and stickers but then they would cost more I guess.

Yeah, its good stuff for the price.

Well, you can buy the fancy VDH luxury stuff. No wooden bowls though.

I did see that stuff online, might try some, looks like same ingredients though.

I've got to try this stuff out. I keep passing it by when I visit the drug store attached to my GP's office . . .
"Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy!"
I like VDH, I make a uberlather with that and CO Bigelow and get a great shave.
FaTip with BRW, QCS soaps, Personna Labs, Simpson CL1/Semogue 620
I get decent shaves with VDH, but prefer other soaps. It's nice to know that in a pinch, I could pick up a puck at the corner store and shave away.
"He must be a king. He hasn't got Williams all over 'im!" - cb91710
I spend my knights at the Veg Table.
Try Col Conk too, pretty much the same thing, just more scents.
Have a great shave!
VDH is an excellent soap!!
All 3 types are quite nice..
I have the deluxe, select, and luxury. I like the deluxe, I love the luxury, and I haven't tried the select yet. They are great performers for the price.
I've used it exclusively for years. Before that, Williams and Colgate. Can't seem to find them anymore around here.![]()
I wouldn't go in there for a bottle of whiskey and a red headed woman to pour it!
Most definitely a +1!
VDH lathers easily but that is about the only good asset of this stuff.
It is said to be cheap but with only 25 shaves in a puck, give or take a few, it is in the rather expensive category imo and absolutely not giving what other soaps in that price-range deliver.
But I have to admit; you can shave with it if you have to and it's an easy product to use when you are new in trying a brush and soap.
I must to the barber's, monsieur, for methinks I am marvellous hairy about the face
VDH is a great soap. I find myself reaching for it more often than some of my better soaps.
Some of the best shaves I get are the result of VDH. And for sure you can't beat the price.![]()
