Default Fast Shave Today - but Still Good

I had a meeting this a.m. and last night I stayed up too late seeing the Rays will their big game. So this a.m. I was in a rush to attend an early morning meeting.

I washed my face with cool water, lathered up, and started to shave. Instead of doing my usual short strokes, I took a long stroke. For example, I went with one stroke from my side burn to my jawline. I did a complete 4 pass shave in just minutes and still was able to get a BBS shave. I guess the shaving gods were smiling at me this a.m.

Most of my strokes are long, like you described, when going WTG or XTG. I am more likely to use short strokes when going ATG, though, especially when shaving the tricky areas of my neck (like near the Adam's Apple).

This is another one of those YMMV areas. I say, Do whatever works best for you and you will be doing it right.
    My mileage does vary.
