    Default Savile Row 3824

Anyone bought one recently? I like big knots, I like a brush that has resiliency but also soft and will splay a bit during use but not floppy. I like bulb shaped knots. Am I describing a 3824? I like the handle of the 3824 otherwise I might even consider a larger size.

Mine is several years old, but it's my go to brush..My absolute favorite. Very soft, not too dense, great for soaps and creams, althought I'm using it for soaps exclusively.

Maybe, the only part of your description that is up for debate, in my opinion, is the resiliency part. Even with the current 54mm loft the hair isn't the springy-est. Everybody's notion of floppy is different ...

All that said, it is one of my favorite brushes.

Of course it's dark, it's a suicide note.

Mine is also several years old but in a lineup that includes a Simpson Chubby 2 and a Duke 3 the Savile Row 3824 is my favorite brush. Of course the other two are great as well.

+1. I preferred the 3824 to my rooney heritage stubby 2, and the shavemac in the previous picture..the latter 2 brushes have since been sold.

I have the 3824, a 3124, and a 3126 (which is a big blooming buster). Can't go wrong with the SR line IMHO.

Not yet. I'm at two ends of the spectrum. Either this brush or a 30mm M&F if I can get one made that will be flexible enough as I think it's a lot denser than the SR and may be too stiff for my likes. I suppose I could try the SR and if it's not what I want it will be easy to sell. I think I will send Lee Sabini an inquiry and see what he has to say and go from there.

Do you see a difference between the knots in the 3124 and 3824?

From what I understand, the knots in the 3xxx are all the same; the 3x24 denotes the handle style

The 3xxx knots are all silvertip, and I was wondering how the density compared between the two handles, as I have seen some reports that the 3824 is a bit more dense.

My SR 3722 is definitely denser packed than the Shavemac Silvertip. Their softness is about the same. Enjoy yours!
