    Default Soap recommnedation?

I have recently tried D.R. Harris Marlborough and Arlington and like them quite a bit. I'd like to add a few more soaps for variety. Can anyone who like the scents and qualities of these soap give me some ideas of other soaps to try next?

    Thanks...

DR Harris Lavender is a good one if you like the scent of lavender. Mitchell's Wool Fat, Old Spice and Tabac are a couple other favorites of mine.

If you are looking for variety (something somewhat different) I'd suggest trying the Edwin Jagger Sea Buckthorn. Nice mellow scent, somewhat more along the lines of Arlington in it's mildness than Marlborough, although quite different than either.

A couple of other great soaps to try would be Pre de Provence as an example of a really good French soap, and La Toja shave stick as a top-notch Spanish example.

If cost is no issue, Martin de Candre.
Brian - I think it would be totally inappropriate for me to even contemplate what I am thinking about.

I tried the Sea Buckhorn and La Toja Stick. The Sea Buckhorn was nice and I'm sure I'll enjoy it but the La Toja was amazing. My Rooney 1/1 was exploding with lather. I think I could have done 5 passes if needed. Great Stuff. Thanks for the recommendation.

Try rubbing the EJ on your wet face like you did the La Toja - you will be surprised at the difference between that, and lathing the brush directly on the puck :)

I'm sure you're right. I have a few pucks of DR Harris which I love, but like the EJ, have not performed quite as well as the La Toja (or Palmolive stick for that matter). I suppose I am simply not getting as much product from the puck onto my brush as when I apply the soap to the face directly.

I suggest you check out Honeybee soaps and Mama bears. Both have a good variety of scents and both are excellent performers. I find MB is more slick, while HB is more protective. MB has stronger scents, but HB feels more moisturizing.

    Of course, YMMV

Not sure that the scent is anything like the ones you mentioned but Tabac is a great performing soap.

You might want to try a palmolive stick. I milled 2 and it provides an amazing shave.

Tabac and Irish Moos are very nice too.

+1 on MWF. Slick and very moisturizing. I have the sea buckthorn cream. Only used it once but the lather was awesome.

Trumpers coconut is another good well liked standard. Cella and tabac both need to be tried. Provence sante or pre de Provence for shea butter French soap.
