    Default Interesting Find

I bought this razor at an antique fair over the weekend. I'm not sure if it's a frankenrazor or the real deal.

It resembles the razor from the NEW 1930's/40's Jewelry set and 1930'/40's French Service set pictured at Mr-Razor.com. Except the teeth seem thicker than those pictured in the French set and the blade guide bars under the top of the head are longer. And of course it's a different case.

My pics are below. Any ideas or thoughts?

I cannot come up with anything more than you did. It does look silver plated. But, in any event it is a very cool find.

Actually, it seems to be nickel plated.

I agree. What confuses me is that the teeth are thicker than on the Razor pictured by Joachim.

I would say French Service Set Harry. The combs do look bigger, but Gillette did so many wacky thing who knows?

I think you guys are right about it being some variation of a French Service Set. Really great find Harry, the only thing that looks a bit odd to me is the width of the head, maybe its just an illusion, but the head of the razor looks wider than normal.
