Default Another way to map beard grain (make your own template.)

There are templates at http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Getti...shaving#Passes and a link to an excellent interactive version. But I thought it might be easier to work from a more realistic image rather than something looking like Kryten off Red Dwarf. I could have just used some photos of myself, but that would have been too easy!

So I found a program called FaceGen (http://www.facegen.com/index.htm) that generates 3D models of faces and lets you view the face from different angles. You can generate random faces, or play with attribute sliders to get something close to your own look. Or you can go a step further and load your photo into it. Which is what I did. I copied several views into an image editor to add arrows mapping my beard grain:

Edit> Oops, I forgot to mention you can download a free version of FaceGen!

I don't look quite like that, but I certainly recognise the features as being mine.

For a bit of fun I did these too, I wonder if you can recognise this gent:

Here is a generic face I made, feel free to use:

Thanks for the website tip. My days of beard-mapping are long gone, but I'm sure I can have a lot of fun on that site!
