Default I have a problem I just bought 11 straights

    Hi guys,
I just bought a shoe box full of straights a stone and a unicorn strop.
Most are in pretty good condition including a a dovo that has never been used and a bengall that has never been used as it was dropped the day it was bought and chipped the blade.
I bought them off an old man who had some fantastic stories to go along with them. I'm thinking about selling a couple as I dont need all of them and I would like a couple more shave readys.

    ok enjoy guys.
This Dovo is pretty much brand new was bought for his son who never shaved with it. Well I took it for a spin last night and it was great!

This Bengall I am told is actually brand new as he dropped it before he even got to shave. His wife bought it for him as a present and he was so embarrassed that he went out and bought another one so he didnt have to tell his wife!

The man told me that he bought this in a auction for charity and it was advertised as the 1000th bengall ever made. I think thats just a cool story to have!

Finally this Unicorn strop its so supple and it did a great job on the Dovo.
I do think it need to be treated though

So any info on any of these would be great. If I do decide to sell them I also have no idea what they are worth so I would love to know what people think they are worth.

I spoke to the old man and his wife for over an hour and the stories this guy could tell are amazing. He told me that if him and his 6 brothers got in trouble that his dad would spank them with the strop and if you where unlucky you would catch the metal bit to hang on the door and thats why the leather is so supple because its got broken in on naughty boys bums. Awsome guy, he also gave me some gillette DE razors.

    Thanks guys
    Alex

Nice score. The 1000th box that you got goes with the Taylor razor.

I met an old man at the pub during a poker game and we got talking and happened to fall onto the topic of shaving! He mentioned that he had heaps and offered for me to come round a take a look

Don't really see the problem! :)

(Didn't know it was legal to make strops out of unicorns...)

(I'm a little embarrassed about that last aside).

Maybe that stone is a Charnley Forest? They feel kind of glassy.
