    Smile razors and cross-dressing

a friend of mine on another forum (non-shaving) is planning to purchase a long-handle merkur 20C so that he can mount his DE89 head on the handle. i just took possession of a 20C and, since i own the DE89, i tried a little head swap. i didn't shave, but the balance of both seemed to be improved! was there a head mix-up at the hospital?

i'm going to be shaving in a couple of hours and may well do a comparison. i imagine others have tried similar things. please share your stories.

    here is the "straight" 20C:

...and something a bit more creative...

hmmm, i wonder if those two can swap handles...?

Cool razor. I thought this might be shaving tips from trannies.

You know a guy would have to have a great shave to pass as a woman.

I wonder: do the European razor handles have the same thread pattern as Gillettes? (10/32)

I'm guessing they have metric threads. I only have Gillettes so far.

    I've often wondered this myself. I have a 23c & a EJ89.

Here's a quote that Bob posted on one of my threads a little while ago. I'd say it's relevant to this discussion.

A metric handle will work with vintage Gillette heads.
Many Vintage Gillette handles have worn threads and will screw onto metric heads.

I don't think the Euro head is the same thread as the U.S. head, I believe one is Metric and the other Imperial thread, be careful it might seem like it is threading but you could easily ruin one.

I successfully threaded both a Edwin Jagger head and a Gillette Tech head onto my Bob's Razor Works handle just fine. See the above post for a detailed explanation (but yes - one is metric & the other is imperial).

thank you. i rested a magnifying glass (very carefully) on top of the two razors. i had a more interesting idea, but it is tough to keep the glass in place.

I'm almost disappointed that this wasn't something else! Haha, it'd be a first for B&B I think!

As long as she was 6'5" and 19 stone like me, that should work.
