I am usually a little pressed for time since I work out in the morning before work. So my warmup usually does not consist of any cardio or running or anything. I do some very light stretching, followed by light warmups on upper or lower body depending on what I'm doing that day. Then I build up on whatever I am doing first.

In the NROL he says stretching is optional but warm-ups are required. I have been doing the semi-specific warm up plan Alwyn provides in the book: walking twisting lunges, lateral lunges with cross body reach, body bridge and Russian twist on the swiss ball, the inchworm and T-push ups.

Then move to the specific warm up (a few lightweight reps) of your first exercise.

Thanks, gents. I'll need to get myself that book and get a good program going.

I checked it out of the library. My lib also has the NROL for women, and the one that is focused on abs/core. After reading it, I'm going to buy it for reference, but if you want to give it a spin first you can check your local library.
