just wondering why there isn't a sales feedback for each member? most forums have a feedback system in place. not that I don't trust B&B members, but it gives you a sense of security when buying.
If you click on the Users name in the upper left of the post, you can then click on "View Forum Posts" which gives you a list of the posts that the user has made. Read those posts and you can figure out for yourself if you want to buy from the seller. I got to tell you, knowing the seller in that fashion is far more useful then ebay style feedback.

Add smileys to all of my posts. Put them where you think they should go.
yes.. that is what im resorting to, but a feedback system will save you time in not having to do research about a member. most sales are time sensitive also. people are at times chomping at the bit to get something and having to do research on the seller kills your chances. its just a much better system.
good to know
Folks have brought up the "feedback" system before, and it just doesn't fit here at B&B.
We're a community of like minded gentlemen (and some gentlewomen) who share many of the same interests. A feedback system might be appropriate for a sales site, but we aren't one, with the BST being an almost insignificant part of the total of what we do here in this discussion Forum.
It's suggested that people get to know others here before a sale is made, hence the 45 days membership and at least 50 quality posts in the core areas of the forum before a noob can make a post in the BST.
If you see a guy with 45 days membership and 50 posts exactly with an item for sale in the BST, and a look at his post history is;
Welcome to B&B
Welcome to B&B
+1
Welcome to B&B
Then that tells you something.
The BST is and always has been a Caveat Emptor situation. A gent with negative feedback wouldn't likely be a member here long.

I may have missed it when I read the rules, but I think that I remember in the past that you didn't have to wait 14 days between posts if you just wanted to post a WTB, has that changed?
WTB: 1916 Gillette Aristocrat , X date code Milord & plastic-tip GEM Micromatic
I bought an item and left the option gift while doing PayPal, now I was going thru the bst rules and realized it should be goods and services. Is there a way I can change this in PayPal?
Figuring out how to get BBS
Once you send the money it is gone. Just remember it for the next purchase.
This is more for your protection than anything else.
If you send a gift and have a problem, paypal will do nothing as you gave money away as a gift to someone, you did not made a purchase.

Hey, I posted in a PIF thread in B/S/T. Does PIF count as Sell/Trade? (read: should I delete my post seeing I am very new).
You can respond to a PIF no matter where it is placed as long as you meet the requirements set out by the guy running the PIF.
It's advised that members do not place PIF's in the BST for several reasons;
1. Members may not be looking there as a general source for a PIF thread
2. Posting a PIF in the BST counts against the once every two weeks posting limitation, so a PIF'er can't post in the BST for 2 weeks afterwards.

Okay, thanks for the heads up. I don't want to be THAT guy.
It wouldn't be very gentlemanly.
another suggestion, as just sent to a moderator for removing my WTB cheap or practice straight razors thread....for my new coti.
I'm new to B&B and to using a Coti. but been using a straight blade on my face since 97ish?
and I get the need for the rules and the moderators, I really do...
but perhaps being a financial contributor to B&B should negate or at least reduce the 45 day moratorium on posting in B/S/T -especially when one is attempting to post a WTB not a WTS thread.
or, conversely, you should at least have a 45 day moratorium on accepting contributions from new members ....
just a thought!
that said, thanks to the moderators who donate their time/energy to stick to the rules as evenly as possible!

If you aren't grateful for what you've got, nothing that may be coming down the pike will likely do the trick for you.

I posted a WTB for a birth year razor on August 7th.
On August 11th, I attempted to post some razors, badger brush for sale but I have to wait until ~the 21st to do so.
Since only one post is allowed every 14 days, is it possible to differentiate between WTB and WTS posts?
It would be good if it was. Perhaps, if posters are required to pick a sub-category (WTB, WTS, etc), tracking would be an option (?).
