Hey all
I've been wondering. Is it required/polite to post a " PM/Offer sent on XXX" when making an offer? seems like its 50/50 on this one.
any opinions?
It's gotten to the point where I don't see the point to posting "PM sent" until I hear from the seller. It's just embarrassing having to explain to my friends that, no, I missed out again.
There is no requirement for the seller to sell to the first PM either so truly, what's the point?
I always thought posting "pm sent on BLANK" can tell others what has been inquired about and save the seller the hassle of sifting through numerous pm's to find who was first or otherwise. JMO

Well, posting will pop the thread to the top, letting more users view the offer and thus diminishing your probabilities of getting the item... It's better for the seller so you may view it a gentlemany sportmanship![]()
If you want something, always send a PM. The seller should update the thread when the item was sold.
IIRC posting PM SENT was never a suggested action.

I always PM them and don't post PM Sent I've missed out on a ton of items by posting PM sent right after I PM but it was already to late and I look like a tool haha
So now I just PM them if I really want it, if they have it and its sold to me I do a little dance but that's about all
Some items people send in under a minute when you were deciding especially wanted items

always send a PM 1st, then if you want add "PM SENT", but don't let that stop you or anyone else from sending a PM to offer to buy.
sellers can sell to whoever they choose, and you never know what that "PM SENT" was. could have been a trade offer or lowball offer that was not accepted.
don't be that guy who let one get away, because you didn't send a PM because someone said "PM SENT" and you assumed he got the sale.

To me it's kind of like bragging or screaming out "first". Pointless and lame. I mean, who cares that you have sent a PM? The seller will get the PM. If it's sold, they'll mark it sold. Often you'll waste more time making that post, then the item gets sold out from under you by someone that just sent a PM rather than telling the world what they were doing.
