This from Phil's Info Post (It's been stickied):
Everyone should read the sticky before they jump into the BST, and it doesn't hurt to go back and look at it every now and then. The info in there is useful when you are getting your feet wet, but it's also useful once you become more familiar with how things work. If a situation comes up that isn't covered, we'll get things straightened out. But, for the most part, the guidelines in there will cover just about anything that comes up. I think that this seems like a big deal to you because you lost out on a sale. Now you know, and I would be extremely surprised if you responded the same way again. The lesson I would take away from this isn't to publicize this one particular rule: it's to read the stickies, the TOU, etc. That's what is going to help you out in the next situation that isn't covered by rule #6.6.) Transactions in the B/S/T are to be conducted via Private Message, not in thread. Sellers may choose to whom they sell their items and are not required to sell to the first responder.
