No you can't, yes you should.

A WTB is not a WTT, even if they are talking about the same item. So they are completely different and require new threads which are constrained under the quidelines. Think for a moment why we may not want to allow this type of action to occur.

Thank you for asking first though!

I figured that was the case and know why, but I wanted to make sure (meaning I really want to post something sooner than 6/14).

Have you considered taking away the ability to have a signature in your name until you meet the same criteria (ie. 45/50). As a new member who was desperate to get started acquiring my first "Kit" I often considered doing like other's I have seen where they have their signature set to "WTB : Cased Fatboy" etc etc. Just seems like one of the loopholes you speak of.

Also I am a junkie when it comes to buying off the BST (Very bad AD lol) and switching it too 7 days allows me more posts to buy items from, however I can see that being easily abused and understand why it should be at 14, so I really have no complaints (that was my impatient side talking just a second ago, don't mind him, it's either a side effect of Iraq or the little man on the Arko Label, not sure which just yet ;) )

Keep up the good work gentlemen, I love it here at my home on the internet. Thanks for keeping it tidy for the rest of us, I know it's one of those jobs that you never really get told just what a good job you are doing, so I thought I would take the time to let the entire staff know that I appreciate what you have built here. I tip my hat to all of you fine people :)

For the edification of any who might read this thread, here's a little clarification.

    The BST guidelines says;

    http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthr...bout-the-B-S-T

Eligibility to sell/trade: Participation in the community at Badger and Blade is a requirement to sell items or to participate in a trade. Sellers/traders must be members of B&B for at least 45 days and have contributed a minimum of 50 quality posts on this site in order to qualify to sell or trade. The vast majority of a member's posts should be in the core areas of B&B.
Note that it says 50 quality posts, and that the posts should be in a core area of B&B. That kind of rules out the "+1" and the "Welcome to B&B" posts.
Do we check every post to make sure it conforms? Of course not. That caveat is there so that OTHER members can read the posts made by the member being considered for a trade or a sale to see if he's here for B&B or he's a drive by who wants to score a few items to flip on eBay.

We try to leave a little wiggle room for interpretation, because the more you clarify, the more the "sea lawyers" try to parse the guidelines so that they don't apply them.

We will make it clear to the B&B Team, so that we are all on the same page here. Sorry for any confusion.

I posted a want to buy about a week ago, and now am not able to make a sale thread. This has probably been discussed, but just wanted to mention that I think that, even if they are in the same forum now, want to buy and sales should be separated so that posting a wtb will not prevent you from posting a sale.

This is why I have gone to a single item WTB in my sig.

Not that it has done any good

especially when Sig's are disable (like i have).

i don't mind the 1 liners, but some peoples Sig's take up 1/2 the viewing page and have unsupported HTML codes and such.

I agree, but I think others feel if they have three lines for sig, they are going to use it.

    Default Disappointed

I'm in the midst of my first BST selling experience, and it didn't go as I had hoped. I listed a Duke 3 + Muhle travel tube for $85 and got no takers, so then I dropped the price to $75 and still no takers. My post (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=295724) is now deep down the BST list, and I'm sure it will rarely (if ever) be viewed again. As I understand it, my options now are to drop the price again by 10% of the original price and offer the brush for around $65, relist it at 20% less for around $55, or wait 90 days and start over again.

I'm not happy with any of these options, but rules are rules. If anyone has suggestions for me about anything I did wrong, or if there is anything bad about the price I asked for or about the quality of the product I was offering I would appreciate it. I don't think I'll be dropping the price again, selling a Duke 3 for $55-65 dollars seems too low to me, I'd rather keep it at that price.

If I decide to wait 90 days, do I have to re-list it at $75, or can I re-list it at $85? Do I leave the old post languishing on the BST until then and delete it when I re-list, or do I need to delete it to start the 90 waiting clock? Speaking of the 90 day clock, what is that clock referenced to, the date of the original post? The date of the last edit or posting in the thread by the OP?

Here's a suggestion. The way the BST is set up now, completed sales stay on the board. This means that older, active sale posts and WTB posts get pushed further from view by posts that are no longer active. I realize that completed sale posts have archival value, perhaps they could be moved to an archival sale forum? I know that I have many times clicked on a BST post that I was interested in only to find that the sale has already been completed. This is a waste of time and detracts from the usefulness of the BST forum, IMO.

After 90 days you can re-list it for any price, even more than your original price if you want. If you re-list within 90 days it must be 20% below the last asking price, so if you reduced it in your original for sale, the re-listed price must be 20% below the lowest price you were asking

It is 90 days from the original for sale post date.

There is no reason to do anything to your original for sale post. Many times I will be looking for an item and scouring the old BST listings then contact a seller who did not mark their item as sold and ask if it is still available so don't despair you may get asked about your items months from now on your initial for sale ad

While this is true it might be an exercise of futility. If it didn't sell even after a price cut of 10%, unless someone is in dire need of the item it probably won't have much luck at an even higher original starting price.

I would like to edit my BST post, but for some reason the "edit post" button is not there. Am I missing something? I edited it once before when I did a price drop so I know the button must have been there before, I just don't see it now. Thanks.

This may have been asked before, and I apologize if it has. As I understand it, we are limited to 5 pics per post. I have noticed some members selling as many as 50 items with 50 pictures in the BST. What's up with that? How does that work?

I make a collage of a number of pics so that I only have 1 or 2 actual images but multiple views of what I am selling. Takes a little more time but if you don't have off site image hosting or don't want to go through the bother this is another option you can use.

Strictly my humble opinion, but I also get the impression that the number of listings/activity has declined considerably since the most recent set of rule changes. But without statistical data to prove anything, it's just anecdotal evidence and doesn't mean much. I would love to see an comparison of the B/S/T activity both before and after the changes, but I don't have the means or expertise to do that.

I hate to sound conspiratorial, but I'm wondering if these changes are actually accomplishing a hidden agenda, i.e., reducing the volume of B/S/T activity by adding increasingly restrictive rules and guidelines?
