A 20 percent price drop is a drop in the price of 20 percent.
If in another thread, you had listed an Item for 10 dollars, and dropped the price 10 percent, then the price of the item in the thread is 9 dollars, not 10.
A relisting of the item at a 20 percent price drop would be $ 7.20

Everyone is the B/S/T enforcer actually. (Some are a bit more vocal than others )

I always thought the 20% price reduction was taken off the original price. Thanks for clearing that up, Phil.

    No problemo!

Though some folks have expressed the sentiment that the 10 percent bump drops or the 20 percent relisting drop is a lot -

If an item placed for sale in the B/S/T hasn't sold, and then hasn't sold after a price drop, and then gets relisted -
It's either because there is no interest in the item or the price is too high to make people bite.

Interesting, well valued items in the B/S/T can sell within minutes. If it's there week after week after week - that's gotta tell you something.

Yes, you may post more than one WTB thread. However, if you can easily combine multiple WTB's please do so.

Only mods can deleted threads. You can post in your thread that you no longer want to buy.

My comment has nothing to do with the rules. My observation, looking back and forth between WTB and sales, is that there are not obvious attempts for sellers to check WTB before offering items up. Perhaps there are attempts and no device to make them obvious. I do see WTBs satisfied (though sometimes I think that these are being answered by someone who didn't necessarily have an intention to sell in the first place). But I also see WTBs having been on the board when an item goes up on the sale section. Just think it would be nice if someone decided to sell something that they would check to see if anyone had already advertised a desire for it.

Good point, and thanks for the reminder.

I know that I have posted a comment in a WTB thread when I saw an item being looked for available on the BST.

    Please note the change to Rule No. 1;

1.) Members can post one new thread in the BST every 7 days--this is an automated feature programmed into B&B software that prevents you from starting another BST thread until 8 days after your last one ... so don't PM a Mod asking what's up or can he 'fix it for you ... it's hardwired into the system. (The WTB subforum is excluded.) As before, there is no limit on the number of items listed in the initial post (IE: you cannot add more items later on in the week). Members may have more than one Active Thread at a time. Linking to older, but still open threads in any subsequent new thread is not permitted.
This signifies automation of the software to prevent people from errantly posting more than one for sale thread a week.

Quick question about the 45 day membership rule for trading--does that mean that a newbie can neither initiate NOR respond to a trade offering, or can I, as a new member, at least respond to a more established member who puts up a WTT posting?

    Thanks!

    2. Using the personal payment option affords the buyer no protection and recourse if something were to go wrong, ie. item lost or damaged during shipment, item never received, or item not as described.

Moderators, please correct me if I'm wrong.
I may be wrong, i am under impression that PayPal protection on goods and services only applicable to Ebay transactions.

PayPal protection applies to all transactions either on or off eBay as long as you use the "Payment for Goods or Services" option.

From the PayPal Purchase Protection page:

We're here to help you shop with confidence wherever you are online - either at eBay or any other site that accepts PayPal. That's why we created PayPal Purchase Protection.

Sorry to bump my own question, but I felt I may have been lost in the PayPal discussion.

A member with less than 50 posts and/or with less than 45 days of membership can respond to any FS or FT/WTT thread. New members can also create WTB threads.

Please be advised of the second half of rule #6.

Question: are photos REQUIRED for selling on the B/S/T? I ask because I do not own a digital camera, but have several men's fragrances I would like to get rid of (that, and I'm in need of cash!). Thanks. :)

Photos are not mandated, but it behooves you use them because:

    1) They help establish proof of possession of the items offered for sale or trade
    2) They will give a potential buyer a good idea of the condition of the item and/or quantity remaining
    3) We like razor porn!
