Default My First DE Razor: 1968 Blue Star Lady Gillette

    Hi B&B'ers!

I joined this forum less than 2 days ago after my husband and I got some shaving advice from a friend who is a DE shaver. We've both been researching like crazy, picking out razors and selecting soaps and cremes... After much looking, I fell for (as many ladies and gents before me) a Blue Star Lady Gillette.

I just picked this one up on eBay and can't wait until it arrives! I've learned SO MUCH just from reading the threads on this forum, but will say I wish there were more for the ladies here.

Looking forward to learning, and hopefully contributing more. Thanks for looking! http://www.ebay.com/itm/250900408551...9#ht_500wt_969

    Great razor!

There are a few ladies around here and some that sell soap, so don't be shy, ask around and they will chime in at some point.

Ah... good for you. I've been waiting to see this thread.

The set couldn't have gone to a more deserving guy. I know how much you wanted just the bottle alone.

    Default Tucson shopping trip

I went to Tucson last Friday and decided to do a little looking at the antique stores. Here is what I found, an old spice mug, in great shape and a house of fuller scuttle with brush , together for $25.Click image for larger version.

Then I went to another store and scored 2 fat boys for $20. One has just a little brassing on the guard, and the other was taken apart by somebody, and them put back together, it looks like they couldn’t get the end cap to screw down right so they used a punch to ping the end. I guess I will try the razor emporium to get it into working order.

What the heck!?! What store did you find the Fatboys? I generally run around to the antique stores once every couple of weeks and haven't found any DE's that were ridiculously over priced :( .
