What straight did you use today? Now with PICTURES

Very pretty -- that horn is nice!


For me it was the Heljestrand -- "Old Faithful" (if 41 shaves in can count as "old").
Well no not really, but the really good thing is that if I ever was to advice anyone on what vintage razor I'd recommend for the 41 first shaves this razor would be it. For a new razor I'd recommend an Aust.

Arne, she's treated me very well and been a very good teacher. She held an edge well, especially in the first few weeks, despite my inept technique (both on face and on leather). Swedish steel has a reputation for being tough and slow to hone, but I find this CVH takes an edge refresh without much trouble at all. Hard to imagine a better "first razor" for me.
