electroetch. fingernail polish coating the blade, pocket knife tip to draw a line through it to the blade, dunk it in some salty vinegar water, and run 12V DC powersupply out of the wall. Just make the "+" end attached to the blade and it sent, what, 150-200mA through it, then wait a couple hours. I've got my 2nd one with first coat of fingernail polish dried, will coat it again so I don't have the edge issue, then use an exacto-knife to do the drawing next time. Will likely poke close-spaed holes in the polish rather than cut lines in it so as to keep the polish from delaminating. Also, this second time I sanded it with 600 or 800 grit sandpaper first to take off the shine and have the polish stick better. Maybe this should go to it's own thread.....

I'm in love with this blade, for now. Perfect shave.
First shave with a Gold Dollar (from the pass around). Very nice.

Andreas, what a beautifulk MK33. That is on my list of razors to buy. Great example.
New to me lol. Had a small chip to hone out, but it went fast. This is a keeper. Very smooth shaver.

Parker shavette, Cella soap, restored brush from Bob Favour, Al's Shave Balm. I got the shavette on a whim at a place that had it on sale because I heard Parkers were good and it certainly is better than the Dovo shavette. The warming pitcher on which the razor is sitting I got from World Market for $7.50. The pitcher is really intended for gravies or pancake syrup, but it is perfect for shaving. I put boiling water in this pitcher to mix up the lather, and if I dip the lathered brush into the bowl before applying it is nice and toasty warm.
I shaved early today...here's what I used

who sez straight razor shaving is expensive?...I paid $15 for that razor including shipping from ebay, of course it wasn't shave ready but I have the technology to deal with that...$3 horse hair shave brush from Mirac in Turkey http://shop.bestshave.net/ a $9 tub of Proraso shave soap, the alum bar is from Mirac also...maybe $2?
