Question Sharp ( and smooth? ) blade recommendations

After reading for quite a bit here, I have filtered to the following.

    1. Feather ( using it )
    2. Permasharp
    3. Personna lab blue/med prep / red pack
    4. Gillette 7 o'clock yellow/blues/black
    5. Astra Superior Platinums ( using it )
    6. Treet Durasharp
    7. Polsilvers

Of course YMMV ( but recommending Derbys are not true ) but from the list I will try get sample blades to try.

    Thank you.

For many, 7 O'Clock Blues and/or Blacks are as sharp and smooth as Yellows, and some think smoother.

I'll give a thumbs up to the Astra Superior Platinums.

I would go Dorko Platinums...but if you want a stiff blade..Gillette Bleue blades are great..cheap and a great buy..I hear they might be discontinued though

3 blades that are both sharp and smooth for me:

    1. Gillette green pack
    2. Red pack personna
    3. Bic chrome platinum

Others for me are just sharp (feather, Gillette yellow) or smooth (derby, Bolzano, and Timor), but not both. Meaning if sharp, razor burn, or if just smooth, not close enough shave. Those 3 consistently get it right (well, only tried the green pack once this morning, but I can already tell it's a keeper).

Gillette 7 Blacks and Polsilvers. Haven't tried but in contention are Medical Personas and Gillette 7 Blues.

Just had one of the closest and smoothest shaves ever with a Treet Durasharp carbon in a Super Adjustable.

Dig up my den and helll yeah there's an Astra SP. WOW, it's sharp enough, indeed very smooth. No nicks and irritation. Made my day.

Astra SPs are as smooth as I can go. For some reason though, I do like Derbys too - don't rule them out until you try a blade or two. My three faves are Derby, Astra and Feather. Try em all. A lot of people love red personnas but those give me razor burn like crazy!

I am a Feather fan-boy, but I have to say that the Polisilver blades that I got from Razor Blades and More are fast becoming a likely replacement after I use all of my Feathers. The Polisilver are smoother and gentler to me than the Feathers, and are amazingly sharp. I like the Polisilver better than the red pack IP that I have, too.

How do you rate the sharpness of Polsilver and Red IP if Feather is 10?

Every think about 'Swimming with the Sharks' (super chrome and/or stainless steel ), to add
    to your list?

I find Shark Super Chrome's (almost as sharp, but much smoother & cheaper than Feathers), to be moderately sharp, (perfect...with no pulling or tugging), very, very smooth, (albeit a 'weeper' now & then..but zero 'nicks'), very little to no irratation and no touch of razor burn resulting in CCS's in 2 passes (WTG & ATG), with 6 great shaves per week (Saturdays are my shaving 'day off').

After trying many different blades over many, many years...Shark Super Chrome's are 'awesome' (my 'go-to'), blades and are very compatible with both of my Merkur 23C & 38C razors.

Enclosed below are Shark razor blade Reveiws.

I would add Voskhods to the list. If you can find them, Iridium blades are top notch.

What razor are you using? How many blades have you tried? Which ones, to you, were sharp and smooth enough? I think the list is a good start, but different razors and different faces and beards will make a big difference as well.
