    Default weepers... what the.....?

when i got back to wet shaving i went to the str8s. (just months ago)
after poking around here, i started up with D.E. gillette and topaz blades.
then got a slim adjustable and used it on 9 most all of the time. i could do no wrong!
all the pressure i wanted, any grain, it was indeed a "safety" razor.
i might have got around 12-15 shaves on 1 blade.

i changed the blade for a new one and, WHAMMO!!! weepers.
all of the sudden now i have to show respect???? whats this all about?
yeah, im sure my technique sucks as i have never had to even think about technique with D.E. before.
not too long ago i used the slim (with old blade) a 1912 gem (with new blade) and a wade and butcher in one shave, no soap or cream or anything. (you tube it)
so if im so horrible how can i do that and be fine, use a new blade with soap and hack it up?
i think im going to let it go for 2 days and do this again.
just might have to use more respect. (or just go back to my straights)
    just seems weird.

Most likely as you were using an older blade, to get the same cut you were using more pressure. New blade and a sharper blade later, your face is learning that pressure is not a good thing!

    -edit-

I used to do this with M3 cartridge razors too.

Some blades are duds. The second blade could possibly have been defective.

12-15 shaves on one blade seems unthinkable.

It may be a sign that a new blade is in order.
