Default My Cella went to College

So, my youngest son is off to college almost 1000 miles away... Going to play baseball for the Covenant Scots. He had been sharing a bowl of Omega with his older brother (a junior at UH). Feeling a bit magnanimous in light of his imminent departure, I opened up my shave den for him to choose a shave soap/cream. I fully expected him to choose the Proraso or maybe one of the newer creams in a tube...

BUT NOOOOO... He chooses MY CELLA!!!

You taught him well, sounds like a pretty fun day being able to load up one of your boys with goodies. you must be a proud papa, and i bet things smell pretty nice under the holiday tree with three shave hounds in the house.

And in the wake of your distress what do I picture? (I must just be an unsympathetic nincompoop) What I see is a young Marlon Brando crying out into the night, "CELLA!!!! ..... Hey, CELLA!!!!"

Come on, admit it, you still felt, in the midst of your despair at losing your Cella, a twinge of pride in the good taste of your son. Next time, you'll have to offer an either/or instead of carte blanche.

John, Cella is a century-old soap that has to be handed down from father to son. In my family my grandfather handed it down to my father, my father to me and, one day, it will be handed down from me to my son.

Last Christmas I gave my son the pick of any of my razors. He got away with my shiniest Slim and an absolutely mint Ever Ready 1912. What can you do? Be proud of their good taste! Of course, mine also has my mid-60s Kay electric, my Gibson EB-3 bass and my best vintage amp . . . .

I see absolutely nothing wrong with this at all. I am sure you are proud and congrats on having such an accomplished son with good taste.

Now this is the perfect reason for an order...

"But honey, you wouldn't want your baby to shave with inferior products, would you? And you do enjoy how it moisturizes my face, don't you? Oh, those other items, I needed to add them to get the free shipping - I'm just trying to be economical!"

    Gentlemen,

    Thank you!!

I am quite consoled and entertained by your thoughts and observations...

Things that I have gleaned from the experience:

    1. I am proud of his taste.
    2. It feels good to see that I have raised him right.
    3. I know I will survive.
    4. I now have a great excuse to do a little shopping.
    5. Next time - "buy the brick - not the jar..."
    6. A great tradition has begun.
    7. Next time - I hide the Cella...
    8. He also took my EJ-DE87 I had loaned him...........................

And Todd... I am still laughing at that one...

It is nice to know that your son will provide a touch of class and refinement to the dormitory. Hopefully for him it is co-ed ; )

I would think an Italian soap would be perfect for the co-ed environment.
