Special formatting

Hi anybody,

Is there a way to get special formatting (strikeout, subscript, superscript, etc.) in a posting? Simply inserting the html tags doesn't work: <s> this is not striked out</s>.

I poked around in my profile and didn't see any way to turn HTML on, so I wonder if that's a vB-level setting. (Or I'm just blind.)
