Hey Everyone!

I'm 19 years old and am trying to get started wet shaving with a DE razor. I have been using cartridge razors and canned shaving creams for several years now but have been experiencing painful razor bumps and ingrown hairs. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for starting off.

I'm thinking of getting a Merkur 23C razor but am not sure if that is a good place to start. I am on a budget and this seemed fairly reasonably priced and seems to have received good reviews. I was also thinking of getting the Tweezerman badger hair brush. I currently have no idea what to chose in terms of items such as blades, shaving creams and pre-shave and after-shave products. I have sensitive and oily skin, so I'd like to find products that work well with my skin type. If anyone has any suggestions for how to get started it would be greatly appreciated.
