Default The German Apollo found in a custom case

Here was a surprise. I liked the custom leather case but was not sure the make of the included razor. Pleasantly surprised with this minty Apollo that was tucked inside. I've seen brand name razors in the large travel/dopp kits, but never one quite like this. Must have been a gift set -- another idea for a regular set of postings of great razors in unusual cases or sets.

The leather smells new -- but it must be from the 1940s or 50s.

No question about the Apollo birthright.

And check this out! The Eclipse-type magnetic button on the bottom of the handle. Who was copying whom? Very nice addition. And a great set...

Jake, I always enjoy your threads, and this one's no exception. Great find! The set is elegant and looks virtually untouched.

No, it doesn't appear to be a Mikron Apollo. Looks like my other vintage Apollo razors. And I wish there were a razor tree in my back yard. Or the razor time machine. But these classy classics do come my way now & then. Friends from abroad & etc.
